Java Developer
Qualifications & Skills
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or similar relevant field
- Excellent knowledge of Relational Databases, SQL and ORM technologies
- Working knowledge and experience with DB schema and SQL Development
- Experience building services in Java or Python
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to solve problems creatively and effectively
Preferred:
- Understanding of streaming market data systems (Bloomberg, Reuters, exchange feeds)
- Experience working with Microsoft SQL Server and Kafka
Responsibilities & Duties
SEQ Technology is looking for a talented Java Developer with:
- Design, implement and maintain Java applications that are often high-volume and low-latency, required for mission critical systems
- Develop a clean, maintainable, testable, and extensible codebase using agile methodologies, including an automated build pipeline
- Maintain and update all existing J2EE applications as needed
- Refine and improve system stability by continuously refactoring and measuring performance
- Transform business requirements into robust solutions under tight deadlines
- Work with Middle Office and Portfolio Managers to understand business processes and workflow
Knowledge of capital markets is a strong plus.
Previous work experience in financial services is beneficial.
